This annual tour highlights the unique and diverse farms that call Goshen home. Come learn, explore and experience this special agriculture community.
Tour is presented by "The Friends of Goshen Agriculture, LLC to benefit The Goshen Agriculture Council.
Their mission is to Preserve, Protect and Promote the deep heritage and the future of agriculture in Goshen. And, to share the importance of preserving and protecting the remaining food producing land in this beautiful town of Goshen - known as the Land of Milk and Honey.

Meet The Farms and Farmers of Goshen:

1. Four Winds Farm:

A new generation is growing at Four Winds Farm! With a focus on soil health and species biodiversity, they don't use chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Swing by their farm stand to meet the family and pick up some fresh produce. 

 

Located at the intersection of Old Middle Street and Four Winds Road, 1 mile South of the fair grounds.

2. Forgue-Tyre Farm

A small hobby farm, home to a happy trio of Nigerian dwarf goats, a sweet mini donkey, clucking chickens, two loyal dogs, and a lush vegetable garden that keeps the McIntyre family grounded in the seasons. Their primary focus is lavender, which they cultivate with care and use to create simple, handmade products such as soy candles, linen sprays, and scented sachets.

3. Goshen Green Garden & Monarch Sanctuary

A 100% organic community garden - includes the “Garden of Feedin” which provides local organizations with 750-1,000 lbs of vegetables annually to be distributed to those in need. The garden also offers 100 & 200 sq.ft. plots to others in the community. The Monarch Sanctuary provides nutrition and habitat for pollinating insects and birds.

4. Goshen Farmers Market

The Goshen Farmers Market has provided the northwest CT area with local fresh produce and crafts for over 20 years. You can find the Goshen Farmers Market at Scoville Park, in the heart of Goshen, right next to the town hall - Saturdays from July until late October. We bring together local, sustainably-minded vendors to offer the best to the Goshen community.

5. Ivy Mountain Goat Farm 

Dairy goat herd shares available for milk and cheese. Children always welcome. Walk out into the field with the goats and learn about their nutritious milk.

6. Mike's Beehives LLC

A full-service, hands-on beekeeping supplier and educator specializing in custom-wood hives, live bee packages, protective gear, supplemental supplies, and on-site services like classes, inspections, and honey extraction.

7. Northern Farm & Flowers

Established in 2022, is a family-owned and operated farm focusing on farm-fresh eggs, seasonally pastured poultry, and forest-raised pork. Open year-round, the provisions market offers locally sourced meats, produce, and other local goods. Shop the greenhouse from Spring through Fall for flowers, vegetables, and herb plants. The seasonal you-pick cutting garden features PYO tulips in Spring and a wide variety of summer flowers from July through October. Fresh bouquets are available throughout the summer.

8. Old Barn Farm

Voted best Blueberry Farm in Connecticut by Yankee Magazine. A family owned and operated blueberry farm with plans to ensure this opportunity to the next generation. Old Barn Farm is committed to making efficient use of resources, maintain excellent land stewardship practices, and to produce high quality blueberries for our customers. They value rural life and are committed to keeping our rural community vital. Their 100 acre farm is cultivated as a pick-your-own blueberry farm. Five thousand bushes in 19 varieties have been planted on over 10 acres.

9. Stone Hollow Farm

Established in 2022, this family-run homestead—with all four children actively involved—has cultivated a thriving haven where nature, family, and sustainable practices harmoniously coexist. They raise goats, chickens, and pigs that rotate through pastures and wooded acres. The family takes pride in offering a diverse range of high-quality products, including savory pork, handcrafted goat milk soap, and farm-fresh eggs. As the seasons change, so does their bounty—summer brings a vibrant mix of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers, while winter features evergreen boughs that add a natural touch to holiday decor.

10. Sunset Meadow Vineyard

Welcome to Connecticut’s Largest Producing Vineyard! Their family owned and operated vineyard and winery has opened to the public in 2008. Sunset Meadow Vineyard welcomes you to walk their vineyards and see the fruit of their labor. Tastings and wine sales are available in our winery with over 28 estate-grown wines to try. Sit and relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the Litchfield Hills. With over 170 acres, they are proud to be sustainably farmed and produce world class wines with no chemicals or preservatives.

11. The Riding Center

Bonnie Giannotti, owner and instructor for The Riding Center has many years of experience in training horses and teaching people the art of riding; specializing in the sport of Combined Training, and successfully competing up to the preliminary level. Bonnie started and ran a riding school at Yale University for 8 years, teaching beginners to advanced riders. She helps riders build confidence, even for recreational enjoyment.

12. Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolates

Our mission is to provide a sustainable friendly environment for our family of long lived cows, so that we can have our pure wholesome cream line milk to create our signature chocolates for you and your family to enjoy.

13. West Street Farm

West Street Farm has been farmed for over 20 years. Roughly 1/2 acre is devoted to sustainably-grown vegetables and fruit while 2-3 acres supply their bees with forage crops from native Goldenrod to planted Buckwheat, Borage, White Clover and Alsike Clover. Over the span of 20+ years, they have planted 561 different varieties of vegetables; each variety documented as to source, success, yield and quality. Each year at least 100 different varieties are grown. Emphasis is placed upon quality of produce with the attached sustainable approach to its cultivation. All of the basic natural planting methods from rotation of crops to noting soil temperatures is practiced allowing for the best success with the least amount of energy used. Their farming footprint is kept small by doing much of the work by hand.
